From Macallan to Glenfiddich, from Glen Moray to Glenfarclas.
The Dowans Hotel Speyside, famous for its collection of rare whisky, lies at the heart of malt whisky country. We play a regular part in the annual Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, one of the most important global events in the whisky lover's calendar and welcome guests keen to tour Speyside's world-famous distilleries throughout the year. Back in 2022, Lauren & Steph were named the Spirit of Speyside Ambassadors’ of the year for all that they have done to promote the festival over the last decade.
More than half of Scotland’s malt whisky distilleries are situated in Speyside. Hardly a road can be taken without seeing the charcoal-stained, stone-bonded warehouses and pagoda roofs distinct from malt whisky distillation. Some of the most famous malts are in Speyside, including world-famous brands like Glenfiddich, The Macallan and Aberlour, but also the lesser-known whiskies such as Glenfarclas, Speyburn, Balvenie and Glen Moray. Our Still bar stocks them all, along with the famously smoky malts from Islay and Orkney, a selection of the lighter and drier Lowlands malts, and one or two historic Campbletowns as well as a healthy selection of international whiskies!
Our whisky collection is over 750 strong in total, and we have a dram for both the newcomer and the seasoned connoisseur—including a very rare 40-year-old Macallan and a 1979 Imperial.
