Over 10 years in Speyside, the Dowans has provided unique and exclusive whisky experiences that celebrate the wealth and breadth of the industry. At the heart of every event is the aim of not only sharing in the extensive history of whisky production but also celebrating the people who have made whisky their life. In February 2023, we will host our most ambitious event yet, with the help of Ann Miller, the Dram Queen. From the 10th until the 12th of February, join us at our sister hotel, Hotel 1881, in Archiestown, for a special weekend which focuses on knowledge, great food, and, of course, whisky!

Day 1 Join us from 4pm on the 10th and settle into your deluxe surroundings ready for the weekend ahead. In the early evening, we will introduce everyone at a meet and greet over pre-dinner drinks and canapes followed by an informal 3 course dinner. Finish the evening with a test of your whisky knowledge: do you know your drams from your draff?

Day 2 Starting your day with a hearty Scottish breakfast, you will then start your whisky course with the knowledgeable and industry experienced, Ann, who will introduce you to the world of whisky from production through maturation all the way to variation in styles. It will be an informative introduction but will also delve further than an average ‘tour’ style introduction to whisky. Stopping for a light lunch mid-way, we will finish up at 4 in order for you to get out in the local environs to stretch your legs and maybe take in a dram or two on your return to test out all that you have learnt! In the evening, join us and some special guests to enjoy a uniquely curated whisky paired meal with some incredibly rare drams and locally sourced produce bringing the day to a perfect end.

Day 3 After a hearty Scottish breakfast, join us for the culmination of the course which will finish just before lunch. A light lunch will be served before we will say goodbye.
